Hi there! I’m Michelle Watson, a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) based in Peterborough, with a deep love for animals and years of hands-on experience.
My desire is to be able to provide the best possible care for pets in our community. The story behind Shanuks Pawcare is one of dedication, determination, and a huge compassion for all animals. I take pride in having my Fear Free Certification, Pet CPR/First Aid Certification and the hard work and expertise of being a Registered Veterinary Technician. This unique combination of experience allows me to offer a level of care that I am proud to be able to provide. I am committed to ensuring that every pet in my care feels safe, loved, and nurtured.
ALL Pets MUST have a Valid Rabies Vaccination in order to provide services.
I offer personalized daytime drop-in pet care services for your furry friends in the comfort of your home. Whether you need someone to walk your dog, administer medications, provide grooming, or simply give them some TLC, I’m here to help. I also offer cat and dog cuddles, playtime, and can even check on fish if needed. While I currently do not offer overnight or boarding services, I’m happy to keep your pets company during the day with a few drop in visits per day.

Thanks to my medical background, I can assist with administering topical, ear or eye medications, injections, oral medications, and SQ fluids (materials provided by you and your vet). I do not offer Diabetic Care at this time.
I perform all grooming services in my Peterborough home, but I offer mobile nail trims and other services with a delivery fee for those outside of Peterborough.
I also offer transport services to your Veterinarian or groomer as well as specimen drop off and medicine/food delivery.
As a passionate animal lover, I have two dogs and one cat (all rescues) and am actively involved with SMART dog rescue, where I’ve fostered 13 dogs so far!
I also Volunteer with: Peterborough Humane Society, Spay/Neuter Clinic, OSPCA Dog Rehab Centre, Riverview Park and Zoo, SMART Dog Rescue, Tail Trackers Peterborough, ElderDog Canada, Ontario Turtle Conservtion Centre, VAC Community Outreach...etc
I’m also Fear Free Shelter Certified and I have my Pet CPR/First Aid certification.
Your pets’ well-being is my top priority. I promise to provide them with a safe, stress-free environment where they’ll be treated with patience, kindness, and respect. If your pet isn’t comfortable with a service, I will never force them and will gladly try again another time.
